Feedback gevenLocated near the main gate of Mount Koya, "Tsukumo" seems to specialize in "kamameshi," as there was a sign inside the restaurant labeling kamameshi as a specialty. This time, I chose the "tori kamameshi (priced at 1,400 yen)," freshly cooked with the flavor of chicken infused into the rice. The set also included miso soup, Mount Koya's specialty sesame tofu, and pickles. The tori kamameshi, with a crispy crust, was incredibly delicious. Additionally, the "1-day unlimited ride ticket" from Nankai Rinkan Bus came with a 10% discount coupon, allowing me to enjoy the meal for 1,260 yen.
I think this is the best restaurant near Mount Koya. I took the kamameshi to go, and even when it cooled down, it was still delicious. The chicken kamameshi has lots of green peas, so if you don't like them, you need to tell them in advance. I recommend trying the mountain vegetable kamameshi. You can order a dish without rice to pair with beer or sake. The hitodama-don is beef wrapped in egg, and it's delicious. The staff is very kind and efficient, making the restaurant feel cozy and welcoming. If I have the chance to visit Mount Koya again, I would like to revisit Tsukumo. On Saturday, I went to Mount Koya to see the autumn leaves and decided to go for lunch with the intention of having kama-meshi! I arrived at around 11am, but despite being a popular restaurant, I was able to sit down immediately without waiting. I quickly ordered the kama-meshi set meal with bunashimeji mushrooms! The restaurant is small, with seating for about 20 people. I was told that the popular menu items are prepared in advance, so the kama-meshi, which usually takes time to cook, arrived in about 5 minutes! It was filled with plenty of mushrooms and the crispy rice was delicious, so I finished it quickly and was satisfied! The sesame tofu that came with the set meal was also delicious! When I left around 11:30, there was already a queue of about 20 people, so going early was definitely the right choice! I passed by the restaurant again around 2pm and there were still people waiting in line, so I recommend going earlier if you plan to visit.
日曜日の11時ごろお邪魔しました。 できれば予約して行くのがベストなようです。 釜飯は、山菜、じゃこ、鶏肉、牛肉、季節ものとあるようです。 山菜を注文。胡麻豆腐と、お味噌汁、梅干しに至るまで、すべて美味しかったです。 御馳走様でした。
釜飯が有名ですが、あえて他人丼ときつねにしました。他人丼、美味しかったです。きつねうどんはアゲがしっかりしてました。出汁は少し濃い目でしたので、薄めが好きな方は控えましょう。 次回は肉うどんもしくは釜飯やね(笑)
