Cecil's New Orleans Bistro

I went here looking forward to a nice dinner based on all the reviews I read on Yelp only to find out that this business has closed for good.

This was a gem. Recommended by the Gyro guy in town. The service was outstanding. The food was amazing

Great menu, great staff. As close to the French Quarter as you can get in this part of California and the only place we dined in Garberville.

A little gem in the middle of Humboldt County. The food was excellent and Cecil and the bartender I forgot her name were fantastic. We were celebrating our 38th anniversary and we are originally from New Orleans so our standards are high. They met them! Cecil and team, thank for an unexpected treat!

Garberville in many ways is a troubling and troubled town....COVID and cannabis have done their work, and the deterioration since our last visit is obvious. Cecil's is the bright spot, rooftop dining, moderate prices, generous portions and superb kitchen. Penne pasta with crawdads in a peppery cream sauce, blackened catfish with a corn/crawdad/ remoulade, and blueberry cheesecake were our choices: all finger-licking good. Wine list interesting, beer choices could be broadened. They're short on servers, and the two on duty did a great job under huge pressure. Hours are currently 4-7pm, the place is deservedly popular.
