Quoc Bao Bakery - Garland

This restaurant is one of those spots that attracts food lovers from all over. Whenever I see banh mi on a menu, I can't resist trying it, but for truly delicious and authentic banh mi, nothing beats this place. On Thursdays and Saturdays, they have a buy 2 get 1 free deal, so for around $9, you can enjoy a great lunch. We sampled the #8 with BBQ pork and meatballs, the #9 with white ham, and the #3 with chicken. I found it hard to choose between the pork and the white ham—they were both unique and incredibly tasty! My girlfriend and I devoured all three like hungry beasts.

If you're in the Dallas Garland area, you absolutely must try the Vietnamese Banh Mi at this restaurant. Established in 2004, it has become a local favorite. Their Banh Mi sandwiches are incredible, especially the one with Cha Lua Sumai (meatball with pork pâté). They offer 14 different varieties of Vietnamese combo sandwiches, so there's plenty to choose from. Be sure to get their freshly baked Banh Mi or French Baguette—just six rolls for $3, which is an amazing deal! It's a perfect spot for a quick breakfast for kids, adults, and families alike. Don't hesitate to ask Phu, the friendly owner, or Lady Nhu if you have any questions or need help with your order. I highly recommend this place, but just a heads-up: you'll get a generous amount of meat for your money!

We tried the 3 (roast chicken), 4 (bbq char siu), 5 (shredded pork), and 10 (roast pork). The 10 and 3 held up better during transport since they were relatively dry. The 4 and 5 did get a bit soggy by the time we ate them, but they were still absolutely amazing. Just a heads up, it took us about 40 minutes to get our sandwiches as they were quite busy. We placed our order, and after being informed of the wait time, we wandered a few blocks to explore a huge Vietnamese grocery store while we waited. I mention this because it’s hard to find on Google Maps and made for a delightful way to pass the time. There’s no seating available at the restaurant or nearby, so we had to drive somewhere else to eat. We attempted to return to let them know their food had changed our lives, but they were too busy for us to share our praises. I really hope we get to visit the Dallas area again so we can return to this place—it was the highlight of our trip!

I can not say enough at how good these sandwiches are every time. The bread is so amazing and the veggies crisp and fresh. I usually go on Thursday to take advantage of their buy 2 get 1 free, which is also on another day, but their everyday special is buy 3 get 1 free also. The meats are well prepared and the ladies working are always working hard and polite. Try it soon. No pics just cause I didn't have a chance.

Great spot to grab a banh mi. The prices are also super affordable. I'll be back.
