Feedback gevenDon’t expect haut cuisine here, but the Schnitzel and Gröstl are of good standard for a ski hut. As it is slightly off the main track, it is less busy but has a nice atmosphere inside and outside. Only downside they still don’t accept cards,...I.e. you need to pay cash.
Poor service; we had to wait 15 minutes to make a late lunch order (1345); two waiters ignored us; the third came by finally to take our order and rudely responded to a request for ice cubes that they didn‘t have ice cubes; and if...we wanted ice, we could go outside there would be plenty. The .2l coke light was served in a bottle no glass, with a straw, which might be appropriate for a small child, but not an adult. The Speckknödel was only average with only minute particles of bacon. Needless to say, we will not return.
A little bit off the beaten track and therefore less crowded than Drehmoeser or Garmischer Haus. This is a true mountain hut with a limited but tasty menu. My son loves the Groestl, but also the Schnitzel is one of the better one’s on the...slopes. Notably they don’t accept credit cards, however, when we could not pay we were allowed to transfer the money. Also on the few occasions when it is really full we experienced a stock out of both Schnitzel and Ketchup. Overall still recommended.
The Bayernhaus is a favorite for us to stop for a break while skiing/snowboarding the Garmisch Classic area. Wether you want lunch, a snack, or just a drink, this is a place with an amazing view and Bavarian treats on the menu. It is equally delightful in the summer months, for a break from your hike. Try a Radler and enjoy the view!
