My husband ordered Arctic char risotto from the English menu, only to discover that it was actually lobster risotto in the French version! I ordered a spinach salad with avocado, but in the French menu, avocado was missing entirely. I find this quite misleading, especially with tools like Google Translate available for accurate translations. Initially, the service was friendly, but when the confusion arose, the staff was less accommodating. Additionally, my salad came topped with a chicken leg instead of the expected grilled chicken, and it was extremely salty! Overall, we left feeling dissatisfied.
During our two-day visit to Gaspé, we enjoyed this restaurant so much that we came back the next day. Pros: The food was outstanding, primarily sourced from local ingredients, and reasonably priced. The window seating provided a lovely view of the bay. They have a wide variety of menu options and styles, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Cons: While they have an extensive selection of craft beers, there are only two white wine options available. Additionally, service was a bit slow.
Absolutely fantastic! The prices are a bit on the higher side, but they’re consistent with other restaurants in our New England area. The tap beer selection might be a letdown for craft beer enthusiasts, but the bottled options are extensive and diverse, offering plenty of great choices, although each bottle is quite large. The fish and chips were flawless, and I enjoyed a creatively crafted burger topped with sausage, kimchi, and beer mustard. It’s worth mentioning that all the sauces, breads, and mayonnaises are made in-house, as indicated on the menu. The atmosphere is a unique blend of quirky, sports bar, upscale dining, and family-friendly vibes, which I think would appeal to many people. And for dessert, I indulged in the "poor man's pudding" with maple and bacon, served warm and accompanied by homemade vanilla ice cream that was absolutely divine!
