Sierra Mexican - Gates

This was my first time at this restaurant, and I will definitely be returning! The service was friendly and quick, the atmosphere was clean and welcoming. The salsa was delicious, which is something not every restaurant gets right. The food was also very tasty. I especially appreciated the staff's recommendation for the tacos carnitas!

Great food, excellent service, friendly staff in a family owned restaurant. Recently reopened after the and newly remodeled, clean, comfortable. This is the kind of place you'll tell your friends about or maybe not because you don't want to let everyone know because then you might not get a table!

I want to start by saying that my husband and I had not been to Sierra Mexican Restaurant in Gates, Oregon since they reopened after the fires. We loved it when we first visited and were thrilled to see that they were busy on our return visit. The interior design is beautiful and the bar area is spacious. The booths were full and the restaurant was bustling. The staff were friendly, attentive, and provided fast service. They also know how to make a great margarita! The prices were reasonable and we felt like we got our money's worth. I ordered their house special, which came with 3 enchiladas with sour cream sauce. I made sure to get one of each meat option (beef, carne asada, and chicken). The special also included rice and fried beans, and the portion size was generous enough for two or three meals. Everything on my plate was delicious and exactly what I was hoping for. The sour cream sauce was creamy with just the right amount of seasoning. The enchiladas were smothered in sauce, cheese, and lettuce. Each enchilada was filled with plenty of meat and perfectly melted cheese that stretched with every bite. I will definitely be coming back for this dish! If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend checking out this hidden gem.

Sierra Restaurant felt like a warm and welcoming taste of home. From the friendly staff to the excellent service, the food and drinks were top-notch. It was a fantastic dining experience all around! As a Bay Area resident, I can confidently say that the food surpassed even what you can find in San Jose. I highly recommend visiting Sierra Restaurant for delicious authentic Mexican cuisine and a wonderful atmosphere.
