Wagamama - Gateshead

This restaurant is one of the best for chicken katsu curry. I also ordered the chili squid as a starter, and it was wonderful as well. The staff were friendly and checked in to ensure everything was satisfactory.

As we entered the restaurant, a man greeted us with menus and took the time to chat with us. He made several suggestions for first-timers and was genuinely pleasant to talk to. We later discovered that he was the restaurant manager. After waiting just a few minutes, we were seated and introduced to our waiter, a friendly guy named Jack. He was aware that we were new customers and enthusiastically recommended menu items, even guiding us on portion sizes. The drinks arrived quickly, and shortly after, the food followed, thanks to Jack's attentiveness. We decided to order the Duck Donburi and Chicken Teriyaki Donburi, along with Hoisin Duck Buns as a side. The food was incredible; we polished off every last bite and left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. After our meal, we had a quick chat with the manager, who made a point to visit our table to see how we enjoyed our order and the service. I was pleased to give him positive feedback. Everything, from the food to Jack's service, was 100% perfect, and I assured him that we would happily return to the restaurant. In fact, just six days later, we were already planning our next visit because the meal was that good. To sum up, I would and will return happily. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and the manager showed a genuine interest in new customers and their experiences, which is always a good sign. Many thanks to Jack and the entire team who took care of us during our first meal there. We will definitely be back!
