Kauai Gava Mar

So I went in right behind a white couple, we were both seated at the same time, 5 minutes into the seating and the couple were served with their respected drinks, and no one bothered to ask if we wanted anything to drink, later on the tables around us were offered dessert, the bill, their plates being removed while none of the waiters paid attention to us, even the greeting lady at the entrance went to a table next to ours to offer them dessert or a coffee and didn’t ask us what we would like to eat or drink, so we just stood up and left. All the customers were white but us, I don’t know if they have a problem with colored people but avoid this place if you are not white.

Looking for a place to have lunch on the waterfront, not more than a 1/2 hrs drive from Barcelona, a friend recommended Kauai Gava Mar. It was middle of the week, hardly anyone. Kauai was open and we were taken to our table on the back terrace (their front entrance), facing the beach promenade, and further beyond, the sea. We had the place to ourselves. Heavenly. Don't be fooled by its looks as at first glance, Kauai looks more like a lounge bar (which it also is) than a restaurant. Lo and behold, the food was amazing and served by an attentive staff. We shared pimientos del padron (fried small green peppers) as a starter, followed by a burger and fresh fish, all of which were outstanding! On weekends, the place is apparently packed so do book your table, well in advance (according to waiter, at least 4 days earlier).

Kauai is located at the beach in Gava Barcelona with access from the street and from the beach promenade. It has a lounge bar to have some drinks and the restaurant is open space with a nice roof. Excellent tapasa with excellent disches from seafood to kids menú.

El lugar es precioso, el personal maravilloso de trato y por fin la comida buenisima. El precio calidad está equilibrado.

Para tomar unos vinos o cava es ideal, para tomar algo es en frío, también tienen platos calientes.
