My coffee was lukewarm and bland, while the chocolate cake tasted cheap and could have easily been bought at a grocery store for half the price. My girlfriend's pumpkin spice latte lacked any pumpkin flavor, and they only had overly sweetened soy cream for our cakes. In addition, there were crumbs all over the tables and floors. All of this for the high price of 183 Swedish crowns.
I visited a coffee shop called Espresso in Gävle city and ordered a coffee. The barista, who was wearing blue gloves, used her gloved hands to touch the rim of the cup (where I would drink from) before serving it to me. I felt uneasy but still drank it. As I sat near the restroom, I saw her wearing the same gloves while going in for about 10 minutes. When she came out, she continued to wear the gloves while cleaning tables and serving other customers. I noticed that there was no hand sanitizer in sight. Now, I am experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and although I cannot be certain, I suspect that I may have contracted the virus from Espresso in Gävle city.
During my business trip to Gavle, I visited Espressou House for hot chocolate with cream and a cinnamon bun after dinner on both days. I was thoroughly impressed with the atmosphere and would highly recommend it as a cozy stop to warm up with a hot chocolate or coffee before continuing on with your day.
Great food and service, and a charming indoor garden that needs to admit the weather if present, try their fries to die or test their new York pizza. there is also a good choice of beer highly recommended.
They were here several times and had lunch. the lunch is of the buffet type and there are several dishes for choice in the regular.
