We went here after a few drinks in the area Was late so only a handful of I think locals in We got a warm welcome and found the place to be a pleasant throw back to the pubs as they used to be Landlady was really nice and made us feel welcome Will return

Good beers always well kept and an eclectic variety of gins and tonics. Very good kitchen with quite excellent fish and chips. It does not have a child licence and nor does it accept credit or debit cards. Highly recommended

Dropped in to this lovely little pub on Sunday afternoon around 3pm. Unfortunately, we 'd missed food servery but decided to have a drink. The car park is more than adequate and the bar is small and cosy but also airy on a warm afternoon. One of our party was getting the round it but wanted to pay by card, which are not accepted. Unsurprising really when you consider the bar doesn 't even have a till, just a biscuit tin and a plate. So I stepped up to the plate. (the old I don 't carry cash ploy hay? The clientele comprised mainly of local people of mature years, who were also very welcoming as was the lady serving behind the bar, who I later discovered was the landlady. The place was also spotlessly clean and took me back to an era where Mine Host would always be on hand if not serving. The rules reflected the wishes of the patrons rather than the masses. In this case, dogs? Yes; children? No! It was a pleasure to go into a pub on a Sunday afternoon that wasn 't the commercial cash cow of a multi national conglomerate whose aim was simply to extract as much cash from your wallet. I will look forward to dropping in again.

Have been to this hostelry several times. Never disappointed. Food always fresh and well cooked. Attentive service. Premises are small, which adds to its charm. Limited menu.

The food is delicious, the beer selection is great, and they offer excellent service. It feels like you're in your own living room, except with draft beer!
