King of the Castle is quite possibly my favourite cafe in all of Geelong.

I've been so keen to visit here for a really long time since following these guys on Instagram. I made sure to make time on my visit to Geelong to stop in for some lunch. There was a wait on this particular Tuesday as they were training a new barista. I ordered and waited. And waited. During my wait, myself and few other customers noticed that one of the baristas was drinking milk out the carton. When asked by another patron just he was doing, he was told that the carton was nearly empty and was not being used to make coffees. I then watched with great interest as he took a sip out of the carton and then pour the milk into a coffee. I watched in horror as this coffee made its way to me and was placed on my table. Another eagle-eyed patron rushed over to inform me not to drink it and confirmed what I had witnessed with my own eyes. I sent the coffee back and was informed I was not eligible for a refund or an exchange. I hadn't asked for an exchange or refund so was shocked by this aggressive attitude, I had simply said I was not going to drink it due to the cross contamination myself and four other had witnessed. By the time the food arrived, it was the completely wrong order. Again, I was treated gruffly and had the docket shoved in my face where it clearly said I had ordered the porridge and not the omelette. When this staff member realised the mistake, he said he'd sort it out. 30 minutes later and being ignored when I tried to grab the attention of staff, it was obvious that his idea of sorting the issue out was to ignore me until I left. I quickly left, $25 poorer. Not ideal.

First time at this coffee/cafe but it will not be the last. The place has industrial decor with greenery to soften. The service was pleasant. But the coffee was great. They serve Padre beans, which proved to be a winner.
