Quite a spicy hot laksa, but could use more curry spices. Generously topped with chicken and tofu puffs, but would be nice with some fried eggplant as well.
So stumbled upon this restaurant in China Town after watching Breaking Dawn part 2 at Crown.

Whilst looking for somewhere different in Geelong to eat I stumbled across Sambal Kampung & chose their Chicken & Chinese Mushrooms with an Oyster Sauce along with some broccoli, onions etc. for $19. I found the chicken well cooked & flavoursome but I'm not sure about the somewhat soft (almost oily) Chinese large Mushrooms. The dish was served steaming hot and within 10 minutes of ordering. The service provision was reasonably good but not friendly, no smiling happy staff here. The background music was pleasant & could be heard over easily however because I was seated next to the open front door traffic almost drowned it out. The small restaurant seats around 20. The Juror's Verdict: Food 3-3.5/5, Service Provision 3/5, Will I return: Doubtful Phill Jury (food critic & writer)
