We stumbled across cafe UV up a laneway and to our delight, they had the football on!!!! I had a lovely tomato and mozzarella salad, and the teen had pizza and apple strudel. It was a really relaxed atmosphere, with interesting decor
I was traveling in Germany during Advent with some cousins and their spouses, and we stopped for a bite to eat around 11:00 a.m. The Cafe Uv is on a side street, so it was not crowded like the cafes on the main streets off the Marktplatz. The town was bustling with people visiting the Weihnachtsmarkt, so finding a quiet place off to the side was a bonus. The offerings at that time of day were limited apfel Kuchen, Kaesekuchen, and Schwarzwaelderkirschtorte. We all chose the apfel Kuchen, and it was an excellent choice. It was by far the best Kuchen I've ever had, with a wonderful, not too sweet caramel glaze and slightly crunchy apples. I don't know how the rest of the menu is, but this one dish was outstanding! We were the only ones in the restaurant at that time of day, but I've been there at other times (in the summer) and it's often quite busy.
You can eat a kind of local pizza, with a thin crust, very good meat and wine, highly recommended?
I was on the advent with some cousins and their spouses in Germany, and we ate a small food market place at 11:00 a.m. the city was full of people who visited the Christmas market, so it was a bonus to find a quiet place at the rande. the offer at this time of the day was limited - apple cake, cheesecake and black forest cherries. we all chose the apple cake, and it was an excellent choice. it was at a distance the best cake I ever had, with a wonderful, not too sweet caramel glaze and easy crunchy apples. I don't know how the rest of the menu is, but this one dish was excellent! we were the only ones in the restaurant at this time of the day, but I was there at other times (in summer) and it is often quite full.
