Oh yes it is! It is not however that easy to find a good gelateria, which this one is. It is also very convenient just minutes walk from the main Piazza Ferrari on one of the main shopping streets. We tend to eat in especially if it is hot and there is a chance of it melting before we've finished, good to have a sit down too. I suspect it is cheaper if you take out, worth considering if there are a lot of you. With good coffee, clean and there is a loo, this is all round good pit stop.
Happily Aprile was the closest gelateria to the apartment we rented last week. I think we had ice cream there every day bar one and thoroughly enjoyed every one. Not only do they have an adventurous range of flavours they also have the standards and they do all of them very well indeed. If you fancy apricot and gorgonzola go for it; its excellent! But equally excellent is their mango. I've never tasted mango ice cream so close in flavour to the wonderful mangoes we used to eat in India. I'm also convinced that they offer the stickiest cornetti (croissants) in the world. I can only assume that this is a genovese tradition. They taste good but I'd not really want to have to continue to work with my fingers covered in flakes of cornetti. Oh and the staff a really helpful too! Remember to order and pay for your ice-cream before moving down to choose your flavours.
Local in the perfect center for a coffee and a dessert. very kind waiter, right prices (muffin 2 euro, very good and also large and several tables inside
Do not put prices on the items and overcharged us. 6 euros for a piece of pizza on a takeout place is absurd. And the pizza was not good either. Stay away!
