We had her Ju Hoo Char, Choon Piah (spring roll), Hai Lam Mee, Hainanese Chicken Chop and the Hainanese Chicken Rice is a must. My guests from Indonesia sing praise for their food and it was the perfect place to escape the heat.
Thanks for our local friend. So far the best food quality I had here. Options in the menu not much, but each dish is up to standard and quality. Compare the price of food quality, it is definitely worth it. The restaurant is also located in a historic hotel. Decoration has a mix of feelings with western cafe, but offer Asian cuisine. Service is good and also very efficient. The food is served after 15 minutes of order. In any case, all recommend visiting Penang.
What an experience. Beautiful surroundings in a historic building, great attentive service and great delish nyonya Penang style food I like. Ordnete the chicken Chop, square bean with chincalok, Assam prawns, fried Popiah, Inchi Kabin and stir fried radishes. All delish! My favorite is the jug. Sour enough to titrate the palate, and roast to caramelized-sour perfection! Popiah is unique, and couples good with the special dip. Chicken Chop is the traditional Hainanese style, large part, delicate inside and with green peas and wedge sides. Couples good with chili sauce as I used to. The square bean has a great spicy kick, and crispy. My kind of green. Inchi Kabin is well carburized and delicious. thief of bbq chicken with a light sweet burned and at the same time hearty. All in all, a great experience. Get back for more!
I had the pleasure to arrange a dinner event for my colleagues from the city. The owner, Bok was an excellent host from my engagement with him during the reservations and during dinner, making recommendations and adjustments necessary to our needs. The location located in a historic storehouse offers a unique ambience served to improve the nyonya cuisine experience. All at dinner enjoyed the nyonya dinner immens and had only praise for the taste of the food. The tamarind shrimps are a must with juicy, fresh shrimps and a fantastic balance of tangy, sweet and savory tamarind sauce try. I ate the whole, including bowls and head. My vegetarian guest also loved the specially prepared vegetarian food. If you are in this part of the city, you owe it to come and enjoy an authentic Nyonya food experience.
A little late post, we were there in Sep 2022 for a family dinner. We enjoyed it thoroughly. The ambience and setting was great. The service was fast and thoughtful without too imposing. And most of all the food was delicious. The chicken stewed with yam and yam gravy was done really well and the Assam curry we ordered was presented as shown on the menu! Will definitely return. Well done.
