George West Steakhouse

This place is hit or miss on both take out and dine in. for orders being right. I am put off by their lack of customer service by managers and owners but they are the only steak house in live oak county. So for lack of options they kinda have the market cornered.

Stopped here because of all the reviews. Ordered fried pickles and Angus steak for 2 with salads and baked potatoes. Salad had a long blonde hair so I traded for buttered corn. Corn tasted spoiled. Meat tasted spoiled. Unsweet tea, fried pickles and baked potatoes were good. We paid for the entire meal though. After paying I told the lady that charged us about the hair and she told me no one here has blonde hair . When i told her that the beef tasted like it was spoiled she said we only buy quality beef . Would not even get off her phone to address my concers. FYI to other travelers this is not a good place to stop

We always stop fot the steak and porkchops. The best we've ever had .

Valorie the waitress is a very friendly people pleaser. She will take care of you. Food is good and the wild west shrimp are awesome

In the small town of George West, this is a great option. You’ll need to be patient with the wait staff, however our meal was fantastic. I had the filet, and my wife had the stuffed flounder. Also, it’s right across from the courthouse. After dinner, we enjoyed reading about the history of George West and the impacting of ranching and cattle drives during its early years as there is a monument in front of the courthouse.
