Hokkaido Ramen House - Georgetown

Terrible Experience, Won’t Be Back! I recently visited Hokkaido hoping for a comforting bowl of ramen, but the entire experience was a disaster. First off, the service was abysmal. The staff seemed completely disinterested, taking forever to seat us even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Once we finally sat down, it took another eternity for anyone to take our order. When the ramen finally arrived, it was lukewarm and lacked any real flavor. The broth was bland, the noodles were overcooked and mushy, and the toppings were sparse and unappetizing. It felt like they didn’t care at all about the quality of the food they were serving. To make matters worse, getting anyone’s attention for water refills or additional condiments was like pulling teeth. The staff was more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to customers. Overall, this was a complete waste of time and money. I definitely won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a decent meal.

The best ramen and boba! Food was fresh, hot, and so good! Will be back to eat more noodles whenever I'm in town!

Everything about this dinner was exceptional. The gyoza and spring rolls were delicious, but the ramen was hands down the best we’ve ever had. The workers were all so sweet, helpful and attentive. We’re already planning our next trip back.

Quality ramen for super reasonable prices! Service and quality are always top notch!

Have you wonder why there are so few reviews by Japanese even if the Toyota factory is right across? That should be a clue, and that should have been a clue for me was well. I ordered three things: Gyoza, Ika Geso, and Garlic Tonkotsu. Nothing really stood out. Very mediocre for the price. Ika Geso was greasy, I thought. It was supposed to be Karaage, but seasoning was dumped on Ika Geso. Technically, Karaage is fried chicken or squid or whatever that is usually seasoned or marinated prior to frying, instead of seasoning sprinkled afterword. Chopsticks were too long, so for this reason, aside from taste, they were not quite authentic, either. Other ramens or appetizers may taste much better than the ones I tried. But I am not planning a visit at least in the foreseeable future. There are many franchised Ramen or Chinese restaurants in Japan, and none of American ramen shops is at the level of even 王将 or 天下一品. That is sad. And they are pricy. Ramen should not cost more than $10.
