General: Preliminary remark: On our bike tour through the north of Germany we visited a restaurant daily. Since we did not want to afford a culinary flop after exhausting days, we use RK to find the better locations of the respective destination. Therefore, the criticisms will also be somewhat above average. However, negative experiences did not remain. The Hotel Sonne in Gersfeld was very positive from the start. Beautifully located on the quiet area of the village, it has a small but not necessarily cozy guest garden, which is sunny until early evening in good weather. Operation: The young lady took up our food and drink requests very quickly, was friendly and accommodating. The dishes were brought quickly. We didn't have to wait long for the drinks. Only when it was paid, the lady had to wait and be remembered very long. Food: A neatly filled menu offers many regional dishes as well as the usual carving options. There was something for everyone. On the one hand we chose a pig Steak Copenhagen with cranberries and Camembert baked croquets and an anger of mushrooms and cream on roast. Both dishes were very deliciously prepared. The taste of the sauce on the pork steak harmonized very well with baking and gave it a defensive note. The cook understands his craftsmanship and completes it to highlight even simple dishes tastefully. It is worth noting that in the sun the hearty Kulmbacher Mönchshof Schwarzbier is presented by the barrel, which naturally fits perfectly with such a meal. With an amazing 25, euro for this food, an uncannyly good value for money has also been created The ambience: The hotel's restaurant is very attractive, but not really cozy. Unfortunately I only discovered the restaurant on my last holiday day! Super selection of regional dishes, extra asparagus card for the season and many great treats I couldn't decide. The food at the neighboring tables looked delicious and fresh. I had the herbal parakeet. Super delicious! unconditionally recommended!
