When we visit this part of the Champagne we always stay at the nearby Cheval Blanc, which used to have a good restaurant. But this is now closed, and La Grange aux Abeilles is the only good restaurant which is open nearly every night for dinner. (There's a good restaurant in nearby Arrigny which is open at lunchtimes, but for dinner only on Fridays and Saturdays and booking is advised). Not realising that the Cheval Blanc restaurant had closed, we hadn't booked at the Grange, but the staff managed to fit us in, even though it was (deservedly) very busy. The staff were working extremely hard, but found time to be very friendly, and the service was excellent. The atmosphere is pleasantly rural (without being overdone), the choice of dishes is good, as is the cooking, and the wine list very reasonably priced (in my opinion). We went back the following night (having booked a table), which speaks for itself, and it was nice to be remembered from the previous night. I'd recommend this under any circumstances, but given the dearth of other comparable restaurants in the area I'd recommend it very strongly
We really enjoy this restaurant. The food is beautifully prepared and the eay it is served is a masterpiece. Not too expensive and they allow dogs.
Friendly staff and okay food pretty much sums it up. The menu is quite varied and offers something for every taste. The food was good, but not outstanding. The location pretty charming. Definitely recommendable if you want to go out for dinner around Lac du Der and don't want to blow your budget.
We found this restaurant as we explored the nearby lake. It is absolutely lovely. Fantastic range of food and several menus. Regional food, well cooked, great value and very good service. Pleased to say everyone else seemed to be having a similarly great time too it was full, bustling, fun and a really enjoyable last lunch before our trip home. Would recommend highly as a cracking place to sample some well cooked French fare.
