Sidreria La Falcata - Gijón

We ordered many different items on the menu of the day. Empanadas, lasagne, sliced meats and baked chicken. Also included wine and deserts.

Don't be fooled by the first impressions of the restaurant and its three TV screens which no one is watching. When we ate there under 14s football was on but not one in there was interested. However the waiter turned off the sound when asked. So, the food and service. This is a local restaurent off the tourist map. There were six of us and we chose from an all Spanish menu (one of our number spoke Spanish but still needed google for translation) we choose plates of squid, pork, peppers, clams and some other offers of tapas. All had a genuine campesino taste and look. All six enjoyed the food immensely together with the local wine and cider. The cook at the back in the kitchen worked hard to produce this food. And the server warmed to us through the meal. All very affable. So for a real no nonsense local and genuine Spainish meal highly recommended. Book before you go. We went on a Saturday evening and it was busy. All found with four bottles of wine and cider €120 Just goes to show how you don't have to follow the guide books.

Menú de comida casera sabrosa y abundante a precio asequible. Buena sidra Frutos y Viuda de Angelón. Ambiente acogedor y tranquilo, con una zona reservada para poder comer con tu perrito.

Totalmente recomendable! La comida buenisima, todo casero y mucha cantidad, atención exquisita, amables, rápidos y serviciales, y pudimos ir con nuestra perrita. Para repetir!
