All were mediocre in flavor, though passable for a lunch stop. The special Caesar salad wascomprised of only raw kale, which was difficult to get through to put it lightly. The banh mi was 80% meat, with a pool of faton the bottom of the plate to show for it. The chowder was OK, but they forgot to use salt in it 's preparation. Fish tacos wereas expected, nothing special, but the fries were crispy and tasty. It was made up for by some great local ice cream we had in aroot beer float. I 'd come back for the homemade ice cream but probably find somewhere else if looking for a quick meal in apinch.
It had been a while since we'd dined here and we were pleased to see the quality had improved from our last visit. I had a perfectly prepared bacon cheeseburger-juicy and flavorful on a lightly toasted bun. My husband raved about the Cubano sandwichand was very pleased his request for extra pickles was fulfilled. We split a small order of handcut fries that were marvelousand obviously fresh. Wish we had room for some ice cream, but we were stuffed!
After striking out several times with ice cream shops that hadn't updated their listings for fall hours, we arrived at the Wagon Wheel. And we were so glad we did! We had the gyro combo platter and the turkey Reuben and they were soooo good! The gyroplatter is huge! We enjoyed the mid century Americana decor and the cozy stove in the dining room. How was the ice cream, youmay ask? I don't know, we didn't have room for any! I stopped by again 4 days later and had the corned beef hash Reuben to go.It too did not disappoint. Highly recommended!
One of my favorite places to eat in Western MA? so much so, I come back each time I am in the area! Food is tasty plus a fun 1950s vibe that?s authentic (not like a theme restaurant) and great seating outdoors with games to play on the lawn.
The Wagon Wheel is a funky, eclectic place for burgers, fries, sea food, and ice cream. I had the Cowboy Burger on our last visit and it was really great. You'll enjoy the walls adorned with clocks, antique plates, and photos from the 40s and 50s.Definitely worth the stop if you are a local or just passing through. Get the hand-cut fries!
