Pineapple Village - Gilroy

Love this place, huge portions and great service, great beer on tap and the mango momo is on point and the pineapple rice is always a crowd please!

Ambiance is great but the food is average. Portion size is generous for the price but the food lacked taste compared to other Asian restaurants, e.g. There was not a single pineapple in a pineapple fried rice. Also eating with guilt of cross contamination with the non veg food didn't help either. Vegans/Vegetarians should try to avoid the place since there is no vegan-labeled items/menu and the taste was umami which means it may have been cooked in the same pan where they cook sea food and meat

Cumin lamb was good it felt a bit indian taste especially as it was severe with roti prata. Lamb was delicious . The other dish we had was pocket fish , I felt it was over cooked and was getting easily broken and is not seasoned well

Ahh Gilroy.. the garlic capital of the world. It'd be a crime to leave the city without consuming any garlic. ; Arrived around 11:45am on a Sunday and got seated right away. We were the first customers of the day. Interior is neat. Started to get busy past 12. 「 O R D E R E D V E R D I C T 」 1. Fisherman's Prawns 5/5: Of course had to order the fisherman's prawns after seeing the amount of garlic that's sprinkled on top of the prawns. Super crispy. Full of fried garlic bits that complement the prawn really well. Not overly greasy. Great amount and size of prawns. 2. Heart-Attack Fried Rice 4/5: Another garlic item. Ngl the name heart attack fried rice almost gave me a heart attack. Do not fear tho, I'm still alive. Served in a stone pot. Nice crispy bits from the torched rice on the bottom. Nice and flavorful. Not too oily. Bits of seafood in every few bites. Overall, solid 4. Would love to try their Tom-yum the next time I'm back. 11.06.2021 Sunday @11:50am (better late than never lol

Hands down my favorite Southeast Asian restaurant, even compared to some of the great options around the Bay. Some really unique flavor profiles while still maintaining authenticity. Make to get lunch here every time I visit the Outlets. The Gilroy Chicken and Mango Sticky Rice are definitely some of my favorites!
