Can't give this place enough stars! It was like going to a museum that you could drink at! If you're into local history, or history about the Molly McGuire's this place is a must go. If you go say hi to Joe. Joe is the owner, restoration chief, bartender, historian and part time stand-up comic. My friends n I stayed there for 3 hrs, no TV or music playing just great conversation, good jokes, and a warm Jameson shot with Smithwicks backer. SLAINTE!
It was great. I learned a lot from the owner. It's small, but it is a big step back in time. It really does take you back to the simple times.
Joe Wayne gave a great tour of this historic place and we had a few drinks as well. There is a lot of history here that you won't find in the history books.
I've been there almost every year Girardville had the St. Patrick's Day Parade. I absolutely love it there! Yes, it gets packed, but the people I've encountered are pretty cool. I love the history behind the Hibernian House too.
