It was our anniversary so extremely disappointed. WE wrote directly to the restaurant and received a standard reply pointing out that they welcome good and bad opinions . That was it. a patronising computerised impersonal reply. Could not believe a chef would send the food out never mind hiding the incompetence. do not go here.
I recently attended this Pub/Restaurant for a function which was a good night although I was somewhat amazed that the toilets (both up and downstairs) were tiny and, given there was a function on, there were lines of people waiting to use them. In the small bar to the right as you go in off the lane I was looking for the price list for drinks (which I believe by law must be displayed clearly for the public to see how much they 'd be charged) but I couldn 't see one. When I asked the Barman if there was one he replied, we 're not trying to hide anything, if you want to know the prices we 'll tell you . I think he missed my point that, by law, these should be displayed. Given the outrageous cost of a lager I can probably understand why there would be a lack of keenness to display the costs. I 'll be back to check again and, if need be, contact the relevant Licensing Authority.
Was there on Monday for a birthday treat having previously experienced this restaurant and were looking forward too it. We were extremely disappointed with the food and limited menu choice as early as 6pm. Felt more like a Corpordte venue looking at the people there. Could recognise staff were under pressure. Very disappointing as this was previously a fantastic place to visit. Definately will not be returning as it is just now.
Looks unassuming from outside, but fabulous restaurant interior in the atrium. Friendly and helpful service. The food was stunning. Looks great and tastes even better. Will remember and talk about the venison haggis for some time.
This restaurant is a longstanding top destination in Glasgow. I noted some less than stellar recent reviews, but our experience was just fine. We ate in the main restaurant. The setting was beautiful and comfortable as well. Our party really enjoyed the steaks. The sea trout was good, perhaps not at the level of its pricing. Overall, the food was good, service was fine, and the pricing did not seem excessive. We’d gladly return on subsequent trips.
