Now it being a rescued old building there are a couple of unique matters to describe, one being the slightly sloping floor that was fine as we were playing carpet bowls. The other was the flights of stairs up to the restaurant or down to the bar maybe it was the other way around I dont recall either way it did not interfere with our enjoyment. This is not an anonymous chain with the usual suspects in every room but it does do nice toiletries, kettle, hot drinks tray and water. A pleasant stay in a hotel heading towards quirky but in a good way
I came out with 2 friends to have a few drinks on Friday night when I was greeted at the door by a worker and told I had to book when there’s clearly a walk in policy which I have proof of over a Facebook message. There were tables free in the beer garden and was still denied access and told that the people inside want to go outside which I don’t believe. I don’t know wether he didn’t like the look of our group of 3 or what but I think it’s really bad service. A pub I’ve enjoyed going to with my family I’ve now been put off!!
Visited today for lunch in the Crabshakk pop up. The food was fantastic as was the young girl server . Great atmosphere in a lovely building. Will be back as soon as I can.
Went into Cathedral House today for lunch, was quiet but it was a bit later in the afternoon. First of all the food which I think is a new menu and has a kind of street food vibe was absolutely delicious, the pasta was superb with truffle and the seasoned fries some of the best I've tasted. Two main courses, three soft drinks and a pint all very reasonable priced and excellent value for money considering the standard of food. They have obviously spent a lot on the place and a special mention to the young girl who served who was first class. Highly recommended.
After the visit of Glasgow Cathedral, we taken a coffee break at Cathedral House. Here we found a pretty atmosphere, and a friendly staff.
