Arrived here for lunch at 12.30 on Sunday, Fathers Day, so very busy. The greeting was warm and the food and service excellent. The hake I ordered cooked beautifully. The Sunday lunch of beef looked excellent.
I went with my kids and we order 3 kids meals and 1 starter I said to the waiter that the food can be together so the kids meals can come so the waiter took the order and drinks. We had to ask for our drinks twice to receive them, that itself took 10 minutes then I got my starter so I asked again where the kids meals were then after 15 minutes when I finished my starter, I asked another waiter where the kids food is it took altogether to get 40 minutes for the kids to get their food, so I said to the waiter that we were waiting long 40 minutes exactly so finally we got the food and the waiter said, because of my starter the kids waited longer the problem is I asked 3 more waiters where the food was altogether the kids was nice and my meal was nice and the setting of the building is nice the veg don’t have any dressing and are very dry and my salad had lumps there was large pieces of onion and the waitresses did not help a lot, I’d even say that some of them were rude. I’m not coming back.
Lovely spot for some pints of Guinness. Food is lovely too, just outside Athlone. Would recommend to anyone
Had lunch in there on Sunday. I hadn't been there in years, but it's the same lovely, friendly place it always was. A true Irish first-class hospitality traditional setting and somewhere you would be proud to send people in Westmeath. Food was gorgeous, pricing on point and service excellent. We will be back.
