The Seaside Restaurant - Glen Burnie

My husband went to this restaurant years ago before this deployment overseas. We visited the area yesterday and decided to see if the crab cakes were as good as he remembered. The crab cakes were great but thats about where the good thing about this place starts and stops. I shouldve known by the defensive menu (a list of them saying if you dont like the food or drinks, too bad) and MANDATORY 18% gratuity would say everything about the quality of the food here. I see why

More a 3-1/2 star, food was good with big pieces of crab in the crab cakes, cream of crab soup and seafood potato skins. Hubby reported that crabcake was top notch. The service was okay, we did have to ask for several thing more than once. I don't understand the automatic 18% gratuity. Sorry that others don't tip; I usually do 20-25% based on the actual service. I don't like an establishment deciding for me. Parking very limited.

Some people like crab dip really cheesy. I've always liked mine just a tad bit less cheesy. The crab balls are delicious. You can definitely see the crabmeat. I ordered the fish n chips. All perfect. Of course, the ????. Cold and perfect. All my food was ????. Nothing cold but the drink. Ya, I started in on the dip n balls then snapped the pic. LOL

I was visiting the area to attend the Wine in the Woods event and even though they had food vendors I really wanted some blue claw crabs and o am so happy this place was recommended. I thoroughly enjoyed the crabs. They take 20 minutes to cook so order a beverage/cocktail and an appetizer to hold you over while you wait for your seasoned fresh and hot crabs to be brought to the table. I ordered the crab dip pretzel as my appetizer and it was huge. I didn't want to get full

The food was really delicious (crabby patty, fish chips, crab dip). The calamari was basic (was better with boomboom sauce on the side). The staff was friendly wait service was good. Ambiance wasn't that nice tables were very close to other guests. Parking lot is very small limited street parking. Can park M T but didn't know that until after we parked. Will visit again when not so congested.
