He brought class and humour to the experience. There were a few mistakes with the ordering, but we could not care less as it was handled with poise and speed. We ended up with the tastiest pizza and pasta, delicious salad, and no room for dessert!I loved eating here and can't wait to go back - can't believe how busy it was on a Tuesday night so make a reservation as this gem hidden in the suburbs is known to locals...
I visit one or twice a year and the food is consistently of high quality Italian style. The service is prompt and friendly so it is a reliable favourite.
Had the most wonderful late lunch on Sunday. Melt in your mouth polenta chips with a subtle Gorgonzola sauce followed by pizza with truffle cream and cheese. Pizza was made right in front of us and delicious. Can't wait Togo back.
Private room upstairs was a good start but service was disappointing. We had a set menu for 15 people but the entrees were served before we received our appetiser platters. We had to ask several times for our table to get part of our appetisers. The entrees were tasty but quite small serves to be shared by 7 people. The mains of veal and fish were both served with potato carrot and broccoli but again small serves for the number of people. After a half an hour wait for a drink had to ask again and finally got one.The quality of food was good but paid $65 a head and went home hungry.Won't be back in a hurry.
We used to live just around the corner from Assaggi and our daughters always felt it was a special treat to go each week. Now that we live in Sydney, when we plan a trip to Melbourne, Assaggi is a must-go for our family. Great thin crust authentic pizzas and well done homemade pastas - hard to believe they get it all made in that little kitchen.
