It's a good thing we had a party of six for my kid's 13th birthday, so we had some time to catch up and play some games on our phones while we waited. The biggest complaint I have is about the slow service. It took a 30 minutes just to get our orders taken, and then another 45 minutes to actually get our food. Overall it was just under a two hour dinner (we were sat right away with our reservation) It was a bit frustrating to watch smaller tables come in, get seated, and leave while we were still waiting for our meals. But hey, at least we weren't in a rush, and we were able to enjoy each other's company. For your birthday, the restaurant brings a free desert on your special day. The baked cookie with ice-cream is definitely where it's at. Overall, the birthday boy was happy, so that's a plus. Our waitress was nice, but it would have been better if she was a bit more updating on the slow down at the kitchen. Despite the slow service, the delicious food and great company made for a memorable night at Babbos.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu and they can customize the dishesDietary restrictions: Very knowledgeable and can customize most if the dishes. All made fresh, just the sauce and breadings they can't modify
Great neighborhood restaurant, has been around for 20 years. Food is great, menu has a big selection of pasta dishes, pizza's and dinner salads. There's usually something special for the nightly menu so ask your server. Our server, Stephanie, was wonderful and kept checking in with us throughout our meal.
We used to love Babbo but our two visits from gone we what thought was a fluke to just plain bad. The first bad visit after years of delightful dinning with family and friends orders came out wrong but we overlooked because it the staff kind and very professional. Then Sunday I tried order over the phone and was rudely told we don 't pre orders in advance . So I called placed my closer to the time we wanted our food. I was quoted 15mins, since we live about 10 min away so left in 5min after I placed the call. When my husband I arrived we over 15min for food. The rude female bartender spent chatting with staff then attended to the customers kept turning her back us. I am pretty she is the rude person I spoke to on the phone.
Placed an order for takeout. While the person that took my order was pleasant, the employees I encountered when picking up acted like I was a nuisance. Thankfully I checked to see if my order was complete as it was not. When I brought it to their attention, treated more like a nuisance. The extra bread I ordered was burned. I guess that’s what I get for asking what I paid for. I have been a loyal customer of the Babbo’s location for years and always recommended it to others. I don’t know what’s going on, maybe new management? Whatever it is, I’ll be hard pressed to return or recommend. Very sad considering the lack of good restaurants on the west side.
Met with a group for a happy hour the other night I believe there were 12 of us in total. The atmosphere was really nice. I had an appetizer and two drinks (cosmopolitan martini) and both were wonderful. The waitress was good, a little annoyed because everyone wants separate checks, but I see that fairly often in many places. She did get the right food and drinks to everyone and it came out promptly.
