I decided to order from Ben and Danny's after joining a new local gym and they were offering a discount. I ended up purchasing the 7 meal one time only plan. Ive been spending several weeks trying to purchase the meal plan but was unable to get the delivery option because although my city was in range, my zipcode wasnt? Even though my zipcode was in the same city that the delivery range covered. Based on the texts Ive sent to the company, the worker wasnt able to get my city through and I ended up contacting the owner to add my zipcode in so I can finally place my order. I opted for 3 garlic soy chicken, white rice, and cabbage, 2 lemon pepper swai fish with 2x carrots, and 2 bbq chicken with 2x corn. I had to contact one of the owners to add my zipcode into the delivery section in order to place my order. Honestly, there wasnt alot of menu choices that I had hoped for so I tried getting items that seemed worth it for my money since they are priced on the higher side. The oatmeal or breakfast items were definitely overpriced so I would focus more on lunch/dinner items. Something you cant rlly easily make yourself?? I ended up receiving my food early and it smelled really good. As an experienced average meal prepper, I thought the dishes were okay. Some of the flavors tasted great, some were overwhelming, some were just not that great. The first thing I noticed was that several of my dishes had left over bits of rice in them. They didnt read the labels correctly and it looks like the employee put rice, realized I didnt want rice, and poorly scooped it out. The rice bits mixed with my swai fish and it just didnt look nicely presented and you could tell that it was just dumped and replaced without actually making it neat. I didnt really fall in love with any of the dishes. The garlic soy chicken was good in flavor but after awhile it started tasting very garlicky and overwhelming and I couldnt get the smell out of my mouth or atmosphere. I appreciate the strong garlic profile though. The portions of the meat was pretty generous and I had a ton left over. The lemon pepper swai fish was pretty good if you love a heavy peppered dish, the carrots were just your basic carrots, the bbq chicken and corn was a huge miss for me, did not like the taste of the whole thing. I think this company is great for those who DO NOT COOK at all and want healthy food to grab and go. I was expecting dishes that felt more hearty, the veggies I got were corn, carrots, cabbage, not my ideal type of veggies especially since these veggies are on the cheap side and not as nutritious. It did not seem like premium veggies, I would have liked kale, asparagus, or maybe even collard greens? I do like fish as a protein but paired with carrots? It was just not that hearty for me on the veggies side and seemed a bit cheap. On a side, I appreciate the sturdy containers and labels but dont think Id purchase from here again. Everything was just mediocre and nothing really stood out especially for being a bit pricey.
GUYS!! Your food is AMAZING. imagine my joy at not having to add anything and I mean anything to my oatmeal at all, it was perfect with the frozen grapes PS I froze the grapes actually I froze the whole thing. The meatloaf was divine the chicken curry excellent! I’ve just been adding green vegetables to the dinners and it’s been wonderful!! Thank you
From 153 pounds to 140 in just one month definitely a great option to get in shape!
I really enjoy this place and would love to give 5 stars based on price, quality and taste but the nutritional labels are not accurate. They do not list all ingredients and do not include additional sauces used. I asked about the meatloaf and they said they add rays bbq sauce which is clearly not in the ingredients or Marcos. This can add 16 grams of sugar with 2 tbsp which is concerning for counting macros and whole 30 diet. Fix the labels and will easily bump up to 5 stars !
