The food was mostly good, although I have to say the chicken meatballs were quite disappointing. On a brighter note, the tea was nice and refreshing, and the sauce was flavorful, though it did remind my friends and me of Arby’s sauce!
I ordered the Curry Nikutama Udon for $15, and it was fantastic! The curry was rich and packed with flavor. We added all the toppings—green onions, tempura flakes, and ginger—which complemented the dish perfectly. It was a quick and convenient lunch; I was in and out in just 15 minutes! The staff was also very friendly, and there’s plenty of seating available. If you can’t finish your meal, they have a station with bags and takeout containers to take your leftovers home.
I'm thrilled to hear that Marugame Udon has reopened in Glendale Galleria! This cafeteria-style udon shop, which has locations in DTLA and West LA, is a fantastic addition since parking is much easier here. They offer a delightful selection of udon dishes with various toppings. The curry udon is quite tasty, but my favorite has to be the Nikutama udon, featuring a delicious sweet beef broth, topped with beef and a perfectly cooked egg just waiting to be cracked! They weigh everything, ensuring consistent portions every time. After grabbing your bowl of delicious noodles, you can stroll along the chow line to select extra snacks to complement your meal. I usually want to try every tempura option available, but I try to restrain myself since it can get quite filling! My personal favorites are the kabocha, sweet potato, tamago, and zucchini tempuras. I'm so happy to have this spot back in Glendale, especially with the cool weather approaching!

I usually want to try every tempura option available, but with the growing crowd, I'm trying to hold back! My top picks for tempura are the kabocha, sweet potato, tamago, and zucchini. The restaurant is situated right next to McDonald's in the mall. You place your order in a cafeteria style by choosing your entrée or bowl, adding any toppings you like, and then paying at the end. After that, you take your food to a table. The dining area is quite small, but the tables are cleaned quickly. The udon is delicious, and the tempura is fresh and crispy. Prices have increased since my last visit (before the pandemic), but the food quality is still excellent and perfect for colder weather.
