A German friend, a great connoisseur of very good restaurants in the region, recommended Zum Kreuz in Glottertal. it was very good advice because we had very good lunch. For a Sunday noon we had reserved a table because there were many people. The setting is very pleasant, the welcome very attentive, the professional and fast service. We started with a plate of salad. Then we selected the dishes from the menu of the day : Seeteufel and Filetgulasch. These two dishes were excellent, perfectly cooked. We accompanied these dishes with a very good white wine: Eichberg Ruländer. We chose Dessert: white chocolate mousse, sorbetteller and cherry waterball. Everything was delicious. we loved this kitchen and will certainly come back to a future visit. Restaurant to recommend

Probably not the cheapest in the city, but this restaurant is highly recommended. They also offer a selection of really beautiful local wines on the glass.

A very nice hotel, not far from Freiburg, nicely situated in a little village with all amenities needed for a weekend in the Black Forrest. It is traditionally decorated, but with modern rooms and it's very clean. Although there is carpet in the rooms it...doesn't give a dirty impression. Breakfast is tasty and exhaustive with a nice selection of breads, cheeses, meats, etc. The only downside was dinner. We went here a few times for dinner due to logistical restraints, the size of our group and the ages of some participants. One evening we had to wait close to 2 hours for our food, whilst the children were taken care of long before, so they were restless and tired. My wife had to take the baby upstairs and sit there whilst others still had to finish their meals. Due to this experience they offered us deserts on the house, but it doesn't take away from the fact that my duck and that of my mother-in-law was terrible. Hard and without much taste, I've rarely eaten duck so bad. The desert on the other side was really good. On the second occasion we informed them about this experience and we came earlier and the food didn't take as long. The service is really courteous and proffesional. THe staff is knowledgeable and friendly with that German directness. All round a great hotel with a nice restaurant and a good value for money option for a weekend in the Black Forrest.

Am Ruhetag vom Hotel Adler (Dienstag, der 11. Juli) gingen wir die Straße runter zum Hotel Kreuz für das Abendessen. Ganz klassisch eingedeckt, die Bedienungen im Dirndl und Lederhose ohne falsche Attitude sorgten sich sehr um uns. Wir hatten Schneckensuppe Badische Art und Rehrücken. Es wurde am Tisch in 2 Gängen serviert (worunter zwar der rosa Rücken etwas leidet, aber die Zartheit des Fleischs blieb erhalten) und die Portionen waren reichlich bemessen. Dem Gemüse fehlte es aber an Finesse und die Teller wirkten etwas roh angerichtet. Das Essen aber war sehr schmackhaft und die Bedienungen wirklich sehr freundlich und eindeutig gut ausgebildet. So etwas erfreut wirklich!

Tijdens ons verblijf in Glottertal hebben we hier zeer lekker gegeten! De porties zijn zeer royaal, vooral bij de mannen van het gezelschap (geen idee of dit toeval was, maar enkel de mannen kregen nog eens extra opgeschept...). Bediening was ook heel vriendelijk. Dit restaurant is een aanrader!
