Stepping into the charming 1870s villa feels like stepping back in time to an era where tea time was a revered British tradition. The spread of finger sandwiches, cakes, pastries, and scones, all elegantly presented on fine floral china, was truly a feast for the senses. The selection of teas, including Earl Grey Cream, Scottish Caramel Pu-erh, and Queen Elizabeth Black, perfectly complemented the food. Pam's homemade tea delights were a highlight, and we indulged in them at a leisurely pace. Charnwood Villa offers three different tea options, ranging from a simple Cream Tea to a more elaborate Ritz Tea. Princess or Prince Teas are also available. Overall, I highly recommend this tea house for a truly special and delicious experience.
We had a fantastic time stepping back in time and enjoying afternoon tea at this charming tea house! The atmosphere was lovely, the decorations were stunning, and the food was delicious. We opted for the light option and were pleasantly surprised by the generous portion. It was definitely worth the price! We also appreciated the music and the elegant table setting, complete with unique teacups, intricately folded napkins, and fun accessories to add some pizzazz to our outfits. With a wide selection of teas to choose from, we each tried a different one to share and sample. It was a delightful way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon. I highly recommend this place for all ages!
I had an incredible experience at this restaurant. The tea was amazing and the ambiance in the Victorian home was fantastic. I ordered a light tea expecting a small amount of food but was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion. Everything was homemade and we were served with a variety of 3 different kinds of tea.
