There were some great clothing and furniture shops, and the island-style setting of the cafe was inviting. Although the cafe looked nice and our expectations were high, we were disappointed by the lukewarm coffee and my smashed avocado toast was mostly mashed avocado. My wife, however, enjoyed her jazzed-up fruit toast. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
Well done on the renovation, the place looks lovely, with French chairs and French cafe style. It is worth stopping at this centre and giving this restaurant a try. I have now been their twice and both times the food was excellent. The last time was for lunch with my wife, I had the Asian Thai beef salad and my wife the terrine. The serving sizes were small but the food was very tasty and well presented. The service on both occasions was friendly and courteous.Definitely give it a try.
A group us went there for lunch and we were really delighted at the beautiful food, charming atmosphere and great and friendly service...it had gone downhill before it reopened but now I would highly recommend it and look forward to returning...my seafood lunch was divine and just the right size serve for lunch.
The restaurant is lovely to walk in to...the staff all very friendly and accommodating biut the food a disaster!! I went for lunch today and had the salt and pepper squid with avocado salad etc!!!! Well I received about a tablespoon of salt and pepper squid. a handful of rocket and one slice of avocado. I even had to ask for olive oil cos it was so bland!!!! I had been invited by my friend who is always courteous and did not have loose money for a tip so I left one. I hope it went to the waitress and not the restaurant because this restaurant is so overpriced for what you get. An absolute rip off and barely any salad choice!!!! I will NEVER come back here again. Sorry guys!!!!!
Having lived on the Gold Coast for a long time and being a previous fan of the Evergreen Restaurant I was hopeful that, under new management it would be a venue I could recommend and enjoy as a local. We were part of a large party who had booked in advance with a set menu. there were no frills... e.g.. no bread, butter oil.. ok, so maybe the food would make it worthwhile. I ordered Snapper and my friends some sort of Pork dish. The snapper was tender: end of story, there was no flavour, it was floated in a very uninteresting sauce which could have been water, the portions were small, there were no condiments and it was absolutely disgusting. If I was cooking at home for my friends I would have been embarrassed to serve it. This theme continued, with others around the table looking increasingly frustrated and disillusioned with small
