Feedback gevenDropped in last night to try the chicken pieUnfortunately no chicken pies were available but I tried the chicken, bacon and cheese pie (although not impressed by the explanation about "cooking schedules"the pie was disappointing and I would not recommend itThe visit was also disappointing as the speaker seemed to malfunction and for some unknown reason there was a long long wait as one car in front seemed to take forever to get served.
Purchased a meal of full chicken, 4 corn, large peas, family size chips and large gravy. All good apart from the corn really which was overcooked for my liking and this a bit soft and soggy - but then in my experience you rarely get good corn on the cob from fast food places."Very good" is perhaps a bit high but equally "average" would have been a bit harsh
After a day out we were really looking forward to a Red Rooster meal, I had visions of the recent ad I had seen on TV of roast chicken, roast veg , peas and gravy. This meal did not seem to be on the menu board so I asked for a roast dinner for two people. What we got was a whole chicken , one piece of potato, pumpkin and carrot each and a huge pot of very salty gravy. Nothing at all like the ad I was salivating for.The food we did get was nice, no peas so on our plates was chicken and the 3 pieces of vege. Pretty boring, I did think $20 was a bit over the top and had we planned to go somewhere such as a beach to eat this we would have had very sticky fingers trying to break up the chicken. No napkins provided but we did get a bottle of soft drink.BTW the toilets were disgusting!
I got Takeaway and a somewhat complex order Staff were great Food was a bit mixed / chicken excellent but chips a little soggy - saved by the gravy I guess
I'll start with a confession: I didn't have any chicken but ordered a mid-morning snack of chips instead. I was the only customer there at the time, but the welcome I received was genuine and friendly. The location - opposite the Ashmore Plaza shopping complex and just down from the Currumburra roundabout- is perfect for those heading toward Southport. There aren't all that many parking places (I counted eight) although the overflow might go across the driveway which it shares with Pizza Hut (and vice versa). I thought that $3.50 for a "regular" (i.e. small) box of chips was on the high side, but the chips themselves were delicious and piping hot. There are many tables inside and the faux timber floor was spotless. The chicken menus also looked pretty good, covering a great number of variations and combinations, and reasonably priced with family combo specials prominently advertised.
