A beautiful place to stop while traveling. directly at the carbahn. great service. cool lodge-like setting. the food was fresh and delicious. the filled catfish hit the spot. the carcinoma was tasteless, but salty. Maybe skip.
That's my second time in less time. the first time I was not impressed, but the jacked up oysters were delicious and I got the seafood plate consisting of fried fish, garnel and utter. I didn't taste my food. the second time was for a small meeting with the family. from beginning to end it was not pleasant. we arrived at 18:15 a.m. and did not sit until 19:35 a.m., which was not the problem. our waiter was very sweet and understanding. that was a catastrophe for all of us. some of us had to change our drinks twice. the sprit was flat and tasted funny. the limonade tasted like pure lemon and unclean water, even the waiter tried it and said something was gone. I just chose a coke. I had the jacked up oysters and they were really good. I also had the small fish with a side of stuffed potato and mac and cheese. it was terrible that the fish was very fat and looked like we were scraping the river. the waiter has checked our orders once and twice before he left the table and somehow they still managed to screw up the entire order. I'll just say that they can't handle too well with big masses because the place was full. While I would like to come back, I just don't think it was worth the price, nor was it to mean eating.
We stopped for dinner at don’s seafood while we stay close to gonzales. there was a great live band game and we asked our waiter dillon whether they always had live music. he said they always do on Monday nights. our food was delicious. we had the bounty balls they came to the table fresh n hot. very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. delicious! I asked dillon whether he recommended the toasted cheese raviolli with cancer cream sauce. he said it was his favorite dish on her menu. I ordered the court and it is not despised! I recommend trying. my man ordered a ribeye steak boiled medium rare with mais on the cob and twice baked kartoffel. he said the steak was excellent and the knife cut it like butter. we ordered two cherry calves to go and they were also very good. Stop eating. I think you'll really enjoy it.
In town on a business trip and decided to check out a local joint. Initially they said the wait time was 1.5 hours but ended up to be around 25 minutes. This place has the largest oysters I've ever had. The charbroiled oysters were very good. Tries both kinds they offered and I would definitelybtry them again. I enjoyed the etouffee over the gumbo but I enjoyed them both. Most of the food here is fried. Go figure. If you enjoy fry food and are in town I would come and check this place out.
