Johnny's Cajun Cafe - Gonzales

The fish was terrible and there should be more options available. However, the bar service was good.

I, like many others, was searching for a place to eat when I stumbled upon Johnny's Cajun Cafe. Intrigued, I checked it out online and read the reviews, which piqued my interest even more. When I finally decided to try it, I was truly impressed. The food was outstanding, and our waitress was not only incredibly beautiful but also one of the most attentive I've ever encountered. Don’t miss out on this opportunity!

I stopped at a restaurant while on a road trip and was drawn in by their big sign advertising roasted chicken. Unfortunately, they didn’t serve fried chicken, which I had hoped for. Instead, I ordered the extra crispy chicken breast for $7. It took about 15 minutes for my order to be ready, which felt a bit long, but at least I knew it was freshly cooked. When it arrived, the portion was generous and it was indeed crispy as I requested. However, I was disappointed by the limited amount of meat compared to the thick crust. The flavor was good, though, and the service was friendly with a warm smile.

We've been thinking about staying here for a while. We give it on our way to visit friends in Cuero. We finally stopped today. Not disappointed. The buffet was wonderful. All Cajun. Chicken fried steak was excellent. Huge portions and cheap. It's worth a visit. Music on Sat. Night (8-10) to!

What a hidden gem. Who would have thought to get such great food next to a fuel station? It's not what you would think at all. My father and I order off the menu, my mother got the buffet. We walked out all very happy. Our server was very attentive and we got to meet the owners. I am pretty sure we could have talked to these nice people all night long sharing stories. Great family business and they have the quality to back it up. You gotta try this place!!!!
