Grand hotel - GOOMERI

We had a lovely meal at this restaurant and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Gommeri is a charming city to visit with an abundance of interesting things to see and do.

We tried to go to the Prendergast Irish Tavern, but it was posted. When they heard we were back to the Gold Coast, we were recommended The Grand Hotel, Goomeri. What a great place to experience local products! Phil had the bangas, bacon and...Mash thick pigs and bacon sausages with a bacon rash, mash, peas and gravy that made home and authentic tasted what our goal was to explore this region. Not to expect to eat here I was pleasantly surprised to find that three of their burgers had a vegetarian option. Not only that, there was a pleasant absence of vegetable meat and cashew cheese. The Spicy chicken burger was delicious with a smoked veggie patty, cheese, onion rings and made at home spicy sauce on a locally made bungalow. We enjoyed our meals and the location. Very recommended.

We had the seafood special battered whiting and chips. Came with crunchy chips and super fresh. Salad and the mayo nice as well. Good portion and couldn't fault. Was a really good lunch. Run by the same people who run the bakery and winery.

Very very disappointing. Steak absolutely inedible. Steak country NOT. Not helped by trivia evening.

My wife had the pie floater, I the laksa. The pie in the pie floater was a lovely creation, the mash gravy good, the peas were hard no really palatable. The laksa was extremely enjoyable, nice little meat balls, well appointed with garnishes,...floating in a lovely creamy laksa. Very good for a outer regional pub, a real pleasant surprise from the standard fare for most country pubs.
