The vegan salad was topped with beetroot and peach and a large amount of dressing, seemed to be a bit of everything. Some roast chicken, a passable salad of tomato with burrata but apparently nothing more tailored to children. We stayed because there was nowhere else to go. This is the restaurant from “a good year”, perhaps they are still able to cash in on this publicity and the tourist haven they’re in but other restaurants in the area deliver more, better, for less. Gordes is very touristy though so perhaps there is no pressure to change.
We had a lunch here yesterday while waiting for our entrance to the castle and I read some comments here today. I don 't really know what must be wrong with the people writing such negative and not true things. The staff is friendly and professional. There was nothing fancy about food, but it was nicely presented, fresh and good quality products. If you can 't afford such places you have several around the place to choose fitting your budget, but you don 't put one star and do not leave the comment tourist trap . This place is what it is. Exactly. No less and no more. If you want absolute Provence wibe, have a nice apero and glass of wine you will enjoy yourself here to the max.
Very expensive restaurant and the food didn't taste much. I strongly advise against. don’t go in this restaurant
Poulet frites was really nicely cooked, our server was super friendly and gave our dog some water. Great experience, not reflective of the negative reviews
I really can’t understand the 1 star reviews on here. They could not be further away from our experience at Le Renaissance. Firstly the outdoor setting is the best in Gordes village by the chateau in a beautiful square which is lit with fairy lights in the evening. The atmosphere is lively, all of the staff were incredibly friendly and chatty especially the lady at the front of house. The first night we had steak with salad and chips and the garlic farm chicken. The quality of the meat was exceptional, fries were homemade and the salad was simple yet fresh and tasty. They also have a strong menu of local wines which were delicious. We spent an hour on our second night in Gordes trying to find somewhere with the same food and service quality which was matched by the ambiance but found nothing. So we went back to Le Renaissance and had an even better time! Yes there was a DJ playing music outside but it was a Saturday in the middle of summer and most of us are here to have fun! Something I think a lot of the 1 star brigade are incapable of having.
