Feedback gevenAfter spending some time walking around Slottskogen, I was delighted to discover the café 'Vedbacken ' (Wood Hill) in the western part of the park, located across from the 'Fagelhuset ' (Bird 's House) where non-Nordic animals such as endangered Humboldt penguins from South America are kept. The Café Azalea is one of several cafés in Slottskogen, offering ample outdoor seating as well as indoor seating behind large glass windows. During my visit in the mid-afternoon, the café was not very busy aside from an ice cream corner. I ordered a slice of apple pie and a coffee from the indoor counter display, my chosen 'fika ' for the day. While the coffee was nothing remarkable, the apple pie was disappointing as it contained very little apple.
I enjoyed the delicious snacks, cakes, and ice cream at this restaurant. The service was polite and efficient. The view overlooking the grass is lovely, and it is conveniently located next to the penguins and the sensory park, as well as close to the toilets.
