Smackwater Jacks - Grand Bay

This was a quaint restaurant along the riverThe staff were friendly and very approachable.

Love dropping in when we are in Grand Bend in the summerThey serve the best fish and chips anywhere and the view can't be beat.

My co workers and I decided to get together for a an evening out and decided to try this place as friends had said the patio had a great view.

As nice of a location as this Restaurant is with the outdoor patio right on the River. We were a group of 13. We sat on these tall tables with tall bar stools. The stool were terrible. no comfort what so ever. They literally caused all of us pain and discomfort. We were not a fan of how cramped we ended up with tables and chairs piled so close together that it was a struggle to get up to go to the bathroom or move around. In all fairness the server did say that they were not expecting so many customers at one time. The food was very good and the portions where plenty. The only complaint was the awful, painful bar stools that we had to sit on at the tall long tables. For that reason alone I would not recommend this restaurant, There were other sitting areas that had more appropriate chairs by the rivers edge. That would have been a better situation however the area could not accommodate a large group.

Good food, good service, a beautiful day on the patio. The menu offers a good variety of tasty options.
