On both occasions, we only did take-out and did not actually go in for a sit-down meal. For a quick burger, fries and shake or ice cream cone, this place is great! It also helped that it was just a short walk from our cottage rental.Try the perch dinner. It comes with fries and homemade coleslaw. The perch is locally caught and nicely fried, with no heavy batter.
This place isn't too far from where we live, we like to go in the "off" season when Grand Bend isn't at full speed, as this spot tends to get busy. The food is delicious, kind of home-style. Love the fish and chips - I haven't felt like garbage after eating here. The staff is pleasant, and definitely not in a hurry, allowing you time to feel relaxed. There are lots of signs and knick-knacks around to look at and entertain, the tables also contain small little write ups about the history of Grand Bend. We have gone for many meals, as a couple, with larger family groups, and with friends. We have tried many of the items, and plan to continue to visit!
We needed a quick lunch before a play and happened upon I'm Starv'n Roadhouse. The decor is quaint and the atmosphere is of a Country Pub. The service was fast and efficient. Our very large hamburgers appeared to be home-made and were excellent,as were the large portions of fries. We had lots of time to get to our play and very much enjoyed our lunch. Recommended for a pleasant quick meal.
The food is ok. The service is like being at Ed Debevic's in Chicago. You think you're on candid camera and being watched as your server ignores you, throws your bill down as she walks by, walks up and says nothing, yadda. The first time we went there last year was the same. As soon as we walked in, we remembered last years experience. We even had the same server. All we could do was laugh.
Good food, generous menu and great value. Service has down-home charm. Even the decor is fun. Hearty breakfasts and ample variety for lunch.
