Waitress brought hot turkey sandwich with loads of gravy instead of club sandwich and then didn’t know what to do when we said we didn’t want it. Took over 35 minutes to get our meal and there were only a handful of tables and atleast 4 staff. When done, we tried to pay but the older waitress was busy punching who knows what in the cash register so ignored me when I asked if this was where to pay. Rude older staff. Inexperienced young staff. Not sure why the kitchen was so so slow. Truckers would be fuming.
We travelling to nfld and back to Ontario, first night this restaurant was closed but when we came back on a Thursday they were open. We had the most amazing Turkey dinner from there. I would recommend this place to eat
We are fans of Big Stops because of their delicious food and quick service. We usually stop here for a meal and are able to get back on the road in no time. However, our recent experience at this particular Big Stop was disappointing. We arrived around 2pm and only 10 tables were occupied. Despite this, we waited for at least 25 minutes and still hadn't received our food. This location seemed unable to handle the volume of customers. Additionally, we were concerned about the cleanliness standards at this restaurant. We observed waitresses wiping tables and then handling food without changing gloves or washing their hands. We even saw one waitress deliver food with the same hand that held the cleaning cloth. We do not recommend dining at this particular Big Stop. Keep driving and find another spot to eat!
Consistently good food every time we visit this restaurant. We have been for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and have always been satisfied with our meals. They are well-prepared, hot, and accurately match the description on the menu. Any issues we have had, such as dry pasta, were quickly resolved with a new plate and plenty of fresh sauce. We brought a friend with celiac disease and they were impressed with the extensive alternative diet options available. The staff was willing to make accommodations, such as serving grilled fish without batter and replacing coated fries with a baked potato, without charging extra fees. The waitresses are always friendly and make the dining experience enjoyable.
This is a great place to stop at for gas, restroom, a place to buy gifts, it has a good restaurant, maps and very customer service
