Perkins Bakery - Grand Forks

I have always loved Perkins and I could eat this food forever. I used to eat here all the time after workouts to load up on calories. Before I bring up my big issue with the place I would like to mention that I don't think I've ever been there and the men's bathroom not smell absolutely horrendous, not sure why this is. My main issue is for Veterans Day they advertised a free meal, not sure which menu item it was, the day after Veterans Day, a Saturday. It was advertised this would be a free meal for any retired or active service members. Knowing this I went expecting to get a free meal and when asking they acted as if they had no idea what that was, even after showing them the advertisement. Just very dissapointing for one of my favorite places to eat.

Stopped in the restaurant for a takeout order and was told they were low on takeout boxes. In this day and age, with Uber Eats, etc., what restaurant runs out of to-go boxes? Was then told they were focusing on customers in the restaurant . . . but hubby WAS in the restaurant. I don't know if it's ever a good idea to turn away a customer that's right there, at your door. I've lived here for over 30 years, and visited Perkins fairly often, but I won't be going back.

Good food, good portions, but a bit expensive compared to other higher end restaurants in the area.

The food I had was very good but the person who served us had quite an attitude. Upon mentioning she had syrup dripping she was very stand offish. We were merely helping her. Satisfied with the food dissatisfied with the service.

Called ahead with group, spoke to manager and was told 5 minutes to be seated. Arrived there in 5 minutes and then was told 30 plus minutes.Due to this we left and ate at dirty McDonald's.
