Place was closed for months when I tried to come in last year. Then I was so excited when I saw it was back up. Went inside to find out they blew up the prices. Like.. almost doubled the prices. Quality of food is NOT worth the price. Nowhere even close. They're next to a college. They should be pricing things that college students can afford. They'll probably be closed within a year, unfortunately, because of this.
North shore shrimp was excellent! Perfect combination of sweet and spicy! Restaurant is take out only but is walking distance to college campus and staff was friendly. Wait time was less than 10 minutes and price is reasonable. Will definitely try again!
Good Hawaiian food to go. There were a lot of wonderful things on the menu, and I've had the katsu before. It's rare to find a poke shop on the Western Slope, and it's spendy but that's to be expected of fish flown to the center of the continent. This time I got that Kauai Chicken, and I was impressed because even after the trip back home, the chicken was still super crisp. They were really intelligent and packed the sauce to go, so I could put it on myself when I was going to eat it, and it was wonderfully sweet, spicy, and umami salty in all the good ways to make my rice super tasty. The portions were very generous, my half order was a super big lunch for me.
I have been coming to Ekahi grill for years now since it has opened here in grand junction. Over the years the portions have gotten extremely smaller and the prices have gone through the roofs. Today I was charged $50 for 2 plate lunches that left my stomach pathetically unsatisfied because the protein to the plate felt like a mini. If the plate is 22 bucks before tax then I expect the food to be either out of this world or at least filling.Service was blatantly terrible as the cashier had no customer service what so ever as he shook his head after I asked him on the price breakdown of each plate. The menu’s have the prices blacked out so you can’t even see how much your paying for the food. This is not the ekahi I remember and it is sad to see this place not be a local spot anymore.
