This restaurant is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but if you’re looking it up, you probably know that already. Honestly, I can’t remember if there are any better dining options in the vicinity, so you might find yourself in a bit of a tough spot. The food, unfortunately, is quite disappointing. Given the lack of decent places to eat nearby, I can see why it might not live up to expectations. However, the reason I’m not giving it a single star is that the staff, particularly the woman working here, is extremely nice. I truly don’t want to hurt her feelings because she seems like a wonderful person, but I have to be honest—the food is really not good. **1. Pork Wings 'N' Fries - $8.50:** Oh my goodness... You get three tiny pieces that might as well be pork scraps. Not only do they look unappetizing, but they taste just as bad. Did I mention they are TINY? You’d get about half the meat of a decent country rib. Plus, they were so dry and completely lacking in flavor. The fries were somewhat reminiscent of McDonald’s, which is usually fine, but nothing could save the poorly made pork wings. Rating: 1/10 **2. Chocolate Chip Cookie:** I can’t believe they messed up a basic chocolate chip cookie. Seriously, how do you do that? It’s hard, but not crunchy. I can't tell if they were going for chewy or crunchy, but regardless, it’s not something I want to eat again. Rating: 2.5/10 **3. Sweet Potato Tots - $4.00:** WOW. After the first two dishes, I was shocked by how good these are! They are juicy, and the piping-hot sweet potato inside is fantastic. They’re bursting with flavor—totally the opposite of the pork wings. After having these, I can’t understand why I haven’t seen sweet potato tots like this anywhere else. Rating: 10/10 So, the sweet cashier (is she the owner?) came over and asked how I liked the pork wings (which she actually recommended). I'm not one to sugarcoat things, so I told her they were dry. She apologized and walked away, but later returned to sincerely ask how she could make it right. I told her I appreciated the gesture but that I was fine. Kindness really does make a difference… well, sort of. In the end, I was ready to give this place a 1-star rating, but because of the friendly service, I’ll bump it up to 2 out of 5 stars. #grandlake #colorado #wedding #americanfood
Delicious sweet potato tater tots! This is a lovely place to grab a bite and enjoy outdoor seating, with a fantastic view of the Grand Lake area. My husband ordered a hamburger and absolutely loved it! The prices are reasonable, and despite being quite busy, we found it well-managed. There’s a parking lot and picnic tables available, plus indoor dining for the winter months. The staff is friendly, and the service is excellent.
This is a fried food joint, no question but we like that occasionally and it had good reviews so we tried it. We must have caught them on an off day... went in and ordered a take out of 8pc chicken, sweet pot. tots, corn dog and onion rings. Ugh. Chicken was dry as a bone once I got thru the brick hard coating. I felt like it was either cooked twice as long as needed or was left over from the days other batches. Corn dog same thing, over cooked but edible. Onion rings were limp and dripping grease. Bright side was the tots they were delicious, but it's hard to make a meal out of that. Also the service was fairly fast.
Well they said they were rated #1 but every other place we went to said the same thing so who knows. Great service and honest. I asked about the brownie if it was homemade and it was not. I really enjoyed the burger. But The sides were the best! We got everyone and the fried zucchini was the best.
