The Rapids Restaurant is the best kept secret in Grand Lake. Nestled along the inlet to Grand Lake, diners are treated to outside or inside dining with the most beautiful views in town. Staff and service are excellent and the food is superior. I just wish we would have found it years ago!
Ate lunch there today and the food was excellent and at a fair price. Watch out for the GAUGING on the drink prices. My wife had a Diet Soda $6.75! That was just one glass. I had a Gin and Tonic with well gin $17.50! You hate to ask about prices on basic drinks, but you might want to if you go here. This makes me not want to come back again.
The rooms are OK, but the restaurant is top-notch! Incredible selection of game and meats, a creative drink selection (martinis are their specialty), and amazing ambiance right next to raging rapids.
No idea how others have had a good experience here. It felt like the only thing they were selling was the view. The table seated after us received their drinks first. Ours took far too long. The black coffee was served in an Irish coffee cup, the orange juice was from a can the water tasted like the water the dentist uses. When I asked for a modification to my sandwich the young inexperienced waitress looked at me like I was inconveniencing her something terrible. When I did receive my burger it was raw inside. I wasn’t willing to pay $20. for a reheated burger and felt so extremely unwelcome at this point I decided to pay for my coffee and leave. The bartender charged me $13. for two black coffees tried to guilt trip me. Needless to say I will never be back will warn my friends family to avoid this place.
