While the ladies shopped the North Head gift shops the men ventured out for breakfast. Recommended by the local fishermen and did not disappoint. Great service. Excellent meal.
This place is not fancy but the food is good. Burgers are handmade, fried chicken was juicy. But what really made the difference was the people. Met an amazing young lady who told my daughter and her friend all about the island and it's way of life. Then recommended a place to go see the boats and told us all about her family's business catching lobster. Was a great meal and super affordable too.
After reading the mixed reviews, we decided to try it for lunch. My fish and chips was about what I expected--OK but not exceptionable. On the other hand, the Shepherd's Pie special my wife got was "not good". While the portion size was large, the "mashed potatoes" were partly unmashed and undercooked, the meat was barely palatable, and the slaw tasted bad. We made a note to NOT make the mistake of going there again.
The gift shop is as large as the restaurant and has low priced tourist souvenirs like tee shirts, sweatshirts and nautical gift items. Pay at the register at the lunch counter. Has a nice local feel to the place.
