Archie's West Bay Diner is a hip little diner that has a great, positive environment, and makes you feel good as soon as you enter. The service was quick and thorough without feeling rushed. Our waitress talked with us for a bit to tell us the history of the diner and its current status. Our breakfast seemed to take no time at all as this place has a small gift shop located upstairs with a gracious amount of items on the upper and main level. Breakfast was AMAZING! I had the breakfast pasty and my mother ordered the french toast. The bread and the pasty crust both tasted homemade. After that first bite, you wanted to clean your plate. I highly recommend going, even if it was 30 minutes out of our way for breakfast. It was worth every bite!Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere is spunky and offers things for the kids to look at. The staff would be fantastic with them.Parking: Standard parking in the front. Handicap accessible parking in the back. When you pull into the front parking lot and walk up the stairs, go around the left side of the building. The entrance is in the back.Wheelchair accessibility: When you pull up to the front of the diner there is no wheelchair access. There is parking behind the diner with a ramp leading into the back of the building where the actual entrance is.
There is a reason this place has such great reviews, it is really good. The food was solid. Not the best I've had, but right up there at the top. The atmosphere is great. The menu size is perfect. Not too much but if you are gluten free they will have stuff for you.The service was just ok, but the place was busy and in the UP, things move a bit slower.Special thanks go to Jen (owner) for keeping such a great diner in a small town.My wife and I would certainly come back.
Rolled in soaked and muddy while biking across the country. The (new) owner, Jen, invited me to wait the rain out, then set me up with some friendly locals for the night! So I guess this is the place to go for tasty goulash—or to have all your problems solved.A classic diner full of old-school charm.
Cute place. Great ice cream and homemade muffins and meals. Often busy. Have been going here since it was at the other location.
