Sat for over an hour never got our food. Wasn't even busy.
We have been going to this restaurant for years. When it was under the previous ownership and called “The Oasis at Joe Pool Lake” it was fantastic! You could get seafood, sandwiches, burgers, salads and other great comfort foods. We arrived at about 3:00 pm ready for some great fish and shrimp. We walked in and the place was totally empty save for 4 people sitting at the bar. The two large dining rooms were totally empty and so was the outdoor patio. We waited in line at the bar where a sign was posted “Order here”. I saw a menu on one of the tables at the bar and they were serving hamburgers and a few sandwiches. We drove from Burleson with high hopes only to turn around and go to Fish City Grill. Don’t get me wrong, Fish City Grill has fantastic food but we wanted the al fresco eating at the lake vibe. It was a beautiful day and winter is over so it was just calling us to the lake. I don’t know if the new place “The Shack” is just starting to open or what but when I asked the manager what had happened to the restaurant he only replied they didn’t have servers and they had to make changes. Hopefully the restaurant will eventually get back to the way it used to be. It was a very popular place and Spring and Summer is just around the corner. I wish them the very best of luck and hope we can visit one of our favorite places again.
They were closed. It was a beautiful day. Wish they were open.
The air was not working, and it was at 100 outside. The windows radiated heat. I felt for the poor people working there. My shrimp was good, but everything else was tasteless. If you used their sauces, maybe, but you had to put sauce on it, or it was super bland. Everything from appetizers to entree had been fried about a minute too long. Also, why is my coleslaw room temp? It should be cold.
